Description

This course is designed to provide the dental hygienist
with knowledge of periodontal disease in the overall
health of patients with special emphasis on the inflammatory
response as it relates to periodontal disease; the

of the disease; the role of chemotherapeutics and pain
management techniques in the treatment of periodontal
disease and the role of the dental hygienist in early
detection and recognition of the disease process and
its relationship to overall health.

This course is a survey of the methods of epidemiology used
