B.S. in Respiratory Therapy

Program Information

The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy provides an education that is relevant and professionally sound to meet the respiratory therapy needs of the health care community. The respiratory therapist works with all members of the health care team in identifying and solving problems of respiratory disease and disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. The professional program requires a second application, a minimum program GPA of 2.50 and the completion of the following prerequisites: all the courses in Terms 1-5.

Suggested Schedule of Courses

This is a suggested 4-year schedule of courses for students interested in Physical or Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry with ACS Certification based on degree requirements in the current catalog for a student applying for fall admission to the professional program. This guide is not a substitute for academic advisement — contact your advisement office if you have any questions about scheduling or about your degree requirements.  Also see the Undergraduate Catalog for a complete list of requirements and electives to choose from.

Students must attend a summer term to stay on track to graduate in four years. Admission to Georgia State University as a Respiratory Therapy major does not guarantee advancement/admission to the upper-division Respiratory Therapy Program.
