JAPN 3001 recommended. Analysis of differences between English and Japanese phonetic segments and rules; exercises to help students overcome their foreign accent in Japanese through use of recently developed audio-lingual materials.
Review of syntax and morphology for those who have completed the first three years of Japanese. This course serves as a prerequisite (with a grade of B or higher) for an upper-level composition course.
This course will aim at enhancing a student’s ability to understand and apply the practical Japanese encountered in realistic business situations.
