|EDCI 4400||Poverty and Education|
In this course, students study the ways that economic, historic, cultural, and social issues influence poverty and education. In particular, students address poverty and its effect on community, family, and schooling. In the class, students develop a working definition of poverty. Additionally, students explore both the American government’s historic and contemporary response to poverty, as well as the ways that schools are impacted and respond to poor children.
