OT 5600 Medical Conditions across the Lifespan

Prerequisites Admission into the occupational Therapy Program
Description

This course is a survey course to introduce the student to a variety of medical conditions that are frequently encountered in various settings in which occupational therapists may practice. The course will consist of lectures, discussions, and case work related to the etiology, pathology, symptomatology, and medical/surgical management of selected medical conditions which affects an individuals’ ability to participate in occupational endeavors. The student will begin to develop skills in acquiring and utilizing appropriate resources that will be added to over the next 2 years in the program.
