Description

This course will explore and dissect the relationship and roles between religion, law, and nation-building. The course will explore nation-states and empires, secularism, the relationship between ‘religious’ to the ‘secular’ in the particular context of law. The course will also examine comparison of the legal recognition of religious minorities and personal status legal systems in empires and nation-states.
