Description

This course provides an introduction and overview of the counseling profession. Students learn about the roles, responsibilities, and identity of a mental health counselor; the history of the counseling profession; the various work settings of counselors; professional organizations; professional journals; standards of preparation; credentialing and licensure; ethical and legal issues; current trends and issues; and awareness and action.
