Description

Laboratory exercises complement/supplement the lecture material.

Three lecture hours a week. This is the first course in a two-semester sequence covering the fundamental principles and applications of chemistry for science majors. Topics include composition of matter, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, periodic relations, nomenclature, thermochemistry, electronic structure, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, and properties of gases. Note: MATH 1113 is a prerequisite for CHEM 1212/K.
